The MFA Graduate Studies: Public Practices is an important aspect of this overall pan, providing a state of the art program that introduces graduate students to the theory and practice of community engagement through visual, performance, and publilc arts. MFA students in this program will provide guidance and inspiration for undergraduate Intergrated Learnng experiences in direct and indirect ways and the program offers a capstone educational opportunity for this growing trajectory in the life of the College.

Over the past decade, visual arts specialties in public, social, and community-based arts have fostered invigorated global debate in the visual arts and have contributed to a growing interest in how artists of many disciplines relate to the public realm.The Otis College of Art and Design's MFA in Graduate studies: Public Practices allos 8 to 10 graduate students per year to select and emphasis based on their specific interests, but its interdiscipinary program of highly individualize study specialises in a rigorous and simultaneous developement of both theory and practice. This pogram will allow a small and select group of students desiring to work intensely and collaboratively, with a high level of faculty mentorship, on new genre artistic projects that are motivated, informed, and shaped by places, issues and audiences.
